In this article, I am going to share with you the tips and tricks about Effective Digital Marketing. You will learn about the methods and intelligence used behind every marketing campaign and so on. This article will be extremely useful for the people looking to start their career in Digital Marketing and also the existent freelancers, bloggers, professionals, marketing managers and entrepreneurs.

First of all, Building a Strong Personal Brand is the most crucial and important part which people often doesn’t emphasize upon enough. BUILD your personal brand with clarity on how do you want the world to see and perceive you. Have a clear vision and goal. Don’t be afraid to think big and DREAM BIG because people are often attracted to the people who have the courage to Dream Big.

Secondly, COMMUNICATE with people, build your tribe and interact with them on a regular basis. And all this I am telling you to do just because of one thing which is known as TRUST. It takes years to build a trust, but once built, it’s hard for the people to not trust a brand.

Following are the things actually needed to BUILD TRUST amongst people :

Read the things written on the left and that’s how you can Build TRUST amongst the audience. So, that means you need to do those things to build trust because OBVIOUSLY, no one is going to trust you if you tell them to trust you, you need to show them why you deserve their TRUST :)

For Example : Dell Emerges As India’s Most Trusted Brand, Followed By Mi And Samsung. Dell achieves top slot as India’s Most Trusted Brand second year in a row in TRA’s Brand Trust Report(BTR)2020, the tenth edition in its series.

So, Brand Trust simply means that People have a concrete and strong trust, belief in your brand and eventually your products/services. Your brand will be the first thing that comes in their mind when they have to buy a particular commodity AND whenever you launch a new product they will have full faith in it and you need not market it much as well and still people will buy your product because you have built that one important thing known as TRUST.

Andrew Davis says “ Content builds Relationships, Relationships are built on Trust, and Trust drives Revenue.”

Further let me give you a detailed explanation and understanding on the below topics :

1)The Fundamentals of Marketing - Marketing actually starts even before creating a product. That means you should know what people need. You just can’t randomly create any product of your choice or liking and expect it to sell. You need to communicate with the audience and try to understand from them what is it that is in demand and people also need and want it at the same time. Be unique, think differently, after you know what people need and want. Once you sell the product to your customers, it is very very important to keep them engaged and happy so that they be your customer not just once but for life. Keep communicating with your customers through emails, run a contest, etc. DONT LET THEM FORGET YOUR BRAND, CONSTANTLY REMIND THEM THAT YOU ARE STILL THERE IN THE MARKET.

Marketing is the most effective and valuable investment one can make to grow their business. It is the only investment which gives an Immediate ROI unlike other investments/expenses like Production, Manufacturing, HR, Accounting, Administration, which doesn’t give Immediate ROI.

2)Digital Marketing vs. Traditional Marketing -

Traditional Marketing channels include:

  • Outdoor (Billboards, bus/taxi wraps, posters etc)
  • Broadcasting (TV, Radio etc)
  • Print (Magazines, newspapers etc)
  • Direct Mail (catalogues etc)
  • Telemarketing (Phone, text message)
  • Window display and signs

Pros:

Impactful and easy to understand
A visually bold billboard or a striking TV commercial is a normal part of most people’s day to day lives. They’re easy to digest and often entertaining.

Printed marketing materials are more permanent
If you have an advert in an issue of The New York Times it will be there until the magazine is recycled. Which is great if the consumer is an avid collector.

More memorable
Seeing something in real life rather than on your phone is more likely to be remembered. The anticipation of the new Super-Bowl ads or a beautiful and impressive window display is more likely to stay in your mind than an Instagram ad you’ll probably scroll past in seconds.

Cons:

More difficult to measure campaigns
There are ways to measure traditional marketing campaigns such as brand trackers but they are nowhere near as in depth or intelligent as the tools available for digital marketing.

Often expensive
If you’re a brand in its infancy chances are you don’t have the funds for a 4 page spread in Vogue. Many forms of traditional marketing will set you back a considerable amount.

No direct interaction with the consumer
Unlike social media marketing, you’re more or less in the dark about your audience’s reaction to your marketing efforts.

Digital marketing:

According to ClickZ, “Internet users now make up 57% of the global population. On average, people spend 6 hours and 42 minutes online each day. By 2021, a projected 73% of all ecommerce sales will come from mobile.”

That’s a mind-bogglingly huge amount of time and opportunity to do some clever Digital Marketing, isn’t it ?

Digital Marketing channels include:

  • Social media (Facebook, Instagram etc)
  • Website
  • Content marketing
  • Affiliate marketing
  • Inbound marketing
  • Email marketing
  • PPC (pay per click
  • SEM (Search engine marketing)

Pros:

More options for engagement
Through channels such as social media you can physically see what your audience think of your brand and marketing efforts. If your marketing has been shared, liked and had plenty of positive comments, you know you’re doing something right.

Easy to measure your campaigns
On the flipside to traditional marketing, the specifics of digital marketing tracking is exceptionally in depth. This makes your learnings extremely clear for your next round of marketing efforts.

Makes clever targeting possible
If you have the tools to specifically target a 29 year old female writer who loves Lizzo and drinking Guinness then surely you can also create perfectly tailored content?

Cons:

Digital ads can be deemed as annoying

Think about the moment you’re scrolling through your Facebook homepage and all you want to do is see what your old school friends are up to these days. Then you get the dreaded sponsored ad for something related to an embarrassing ailment you googled the night before. It’s sure to make you actively dislike the very brand doing the clever targeting.

Less permanent

Digital marketing efforts like Google ads, banners, promo emails or social media ads can have a fleeting, temporary character. They’re intangible and can easily be ignored. If your target audience keeps scrolling or clicks to the next page your ad will be gone from their screen.

Constantly evolves

To get the most out of your digital marketing efforts there is a lot to learn. Each channel usually requires its own specialist, from search engine marketing to social media, each channel requires a pro to get the best bang for your buck. However, a grass-roots social media marketing strategy is a great place to start. Have a look at our digital marketing strategy guide for some inspiration.

The moral of the story: Both Digital and Traditional Marketing can work for you, as long as you know what your audience wants and where your Target Audience is the most active.

3)CATT Marketing Funnel-

n^CATT = Wealth (Because let’s admit it, we all are doing this for wealth eventually.)

n^CATT:

{n} = Niche: Select the niche you are driven from. Don’t think you can do every other thing because then the people won’t be much interested and you won’t attract them. Select one speciality and make that your power tool.

{C} = Content: Create useful content that attracts people. The content you create communicates your message, educates your readers, and persuades them to purchase your products and services over your competition. So, make sure it’s a high quality content.

{A} = Attention: You can and must drive attention to your content using the Digital Marketing tools such as SEO, Social Media, Paid Ads and also Referrals.

{T} = Trust: I can’t emphasize enough on this term called TRUST because it’s like The Roots of Digital Marketing. You can use tools such as trip wires, marketing automation and retargeting.

{T} = Transaction: Convert your leads into customers with natural sales methods.

4)Integrated Digital Marketing -

Integrated Digital Marketing means creating a content and marketing it through various channels such as Email Marketing, Paid Advertising, SEO, Social Media, then Sell & Convert it.

For Effective Marketing you shouldn’t use any one or two methods you like. You should use all the methods in order to sell your product or content. Everything is inter-related to just One Main Thing which is Content Marketing. And all the methods are equally important.

5) Niche Selection -

Firstly, you must select a Niche in which you have a Talent. Secondly, you must ask this question to yourself, Are You Passionate Enough About It? And Last but Not The Least you should do a thorough Market Research about your Niche to know whether your selected Niche have a high demand in market or a low demand in Market? This Step is the Most Important one because if your Niche doesn’t have any market demand then it’s of no use to pursue it. Although, all the three steps go hand in hand and are inter-connected. It’s compulsory that your Niche have all the three things in order to be Successful in your Career.

The Following Table will help you understand deeper about the Importance of the Right Niche Selection:

6)Personal Branding : MassTrust Blueprint -

LEARN : You must learn a New Skill through Concepts, Facts and Procedures. Understand the Concepts. Remember the Facts and Practice the Procedures. Read Relatable Books, gain knowledge as much as you can. Make it a habit to Take Notes of what you learn. Please Don’t take notes in your phone or laptop. Takes Notes in your book, Write it and you will remember it better.

WORK : Go and Implement and Apply what you learnt in a real world. Not implementing it will eventually make you forget what you learned. Practice and implementation of what you learned will give you a better understanding. You can start Freelancing or a Job or even start your own projects.

BLOG : Write about what you learned and share your experience with the world. When you write it, you will understand it better and you will also simultaneously start building your own Personal Brand. Isn’t that great?

CONSULT : Now that you have your own Personal Brand through your blog, have Work Experience and have learned The Fundamentals of Digital Marketing, START CONSULTING other businesses/brands instead of working for them.

MENTOR : Mentor those who are interested in Digital Marketing and in becoming like you. Mentoring will also help you scale your understanding to a whole new level and polish your skills to the greater extent. Also, never stop learning, always keep learning and growing more and more.

This is just like a KARMIC CYCLE. As in, the circle should go on and on. Even after becoming a Mentor, you should continue to Learn, Work on your brand , Blog your thoughts and experience, Consult other businesses/brands and again continue to Mentor other people as well.

So, these were the things needed to become The Best Digital Marketer. If you’re still sitting there and thinking that it is hard and not possible, DON’T THINK at all, get up and take that one step towards Digital Marketing. Remember, like I always say in my webinars and events that, ACTION is the only thing which makes your dream come true. And I am always there for you as your Mentor.
